Maps in Braille for Visually Challenged - (E)
In 2017, the Kolkata based National Atlas and Thematic Mapping Organization or NATMO was honoured at the Indian Science Congress for coming up with a comprehensive Braille atlas, which was a path breaking initiative for expanding the knowledge of the visually challenged. Now, this attached institution of the department of science and technology has introduced, designed and implemented for the first time in India, the digital embossing technology to prepare user-friendly and durable Braille maps.
